Saturday’s biggest female boxing match is set at The World’s Most Famous Arena.
Katie Taylor will put her WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF lightweight championships on the line against Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden in New York. DAZN will broadcast the event pay-per view.
The stars, along with the bells and whistles were in full effect during the event’s ceremonial weigh-ins on Friday. Before the mainliners were weighed in, WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair presented Serrano. Becky Lynch, a fellow professional wrestler, introduced Taylor.
Serrano weighed in at 133. 6 pounds, while Taylor hit the mark as well with a one-pound advantage at 134. 6 pounds.
After the success of the weigh-ins Serrano was asked for her opinions on the huge event and all the excitement that went with it.
” And they claim women can’t buy,” Serrano stated. I just have to look vintage Amanda Serrano
Serrano’s promoter, and fellow boxer, Most Valuable Promotion’s Jake Paul was asked to put his fighter over in his interview. Paul instead chose to do a heel promo for the Irish fans present at the event.
” What I can say is that I feel sorry for the Irish because Katie Taylor is starting to lose, much like Conor McGregor .”
Taylor and Eddie Hearn (matchroom boxing promoter) took a humble, but promotional, approach to the final remarks before Saturday’s show.
“I feel great, I’m ready to step in there, and I’m ready to hear those words, ‘And still, world champion,’ Taylor said.
“Forget about men’s or women’s boxing. This is the best fight of their lives, Hearn stated.
