Report: Darren Till arrested in Stockholm in July on DUI charges

Darren Till was reportedly arrested in Stockholm in July on drunk driving charges.

The major Swedish newspaper Expressen published news about the situation on Tuesday (h/t MMA Junkie ), citing a report by Stockholm police officers. The report states that Till was driving fast in central Stockholm, near Vasagatan on July . A woman was his passenger and she reportedly told police that Till was the UFC middleweight driver. According to the report, Till initially denied driving but then later admitted to being behind the wheel.

Police noted Till as “noticeably impaired” and said Till was three times over the legal limit following a breath alcohol test.

The report says that Till agreed to a penalty order. However, no further details are provided.

Till, 29, has been a visitor in Stockholm often over the past year to train with his “Smesh Bros” friend and UFC 279 headliner, Khamzat Chimaev, at Allstars Training Center.

The 29-year-old fighter withdrew from a scheduled bout at UFC London against Jack Hermansson in late July due to an undisclosed injury.

Till (18-4-1) has a rough road in the UFC since his meteoric rise. The Liverpool native started his octagon career with an unbeaten run of six fights. However, he has now lost four out five of his five fights. This included a disappointing effort in the 2018 title bout against Tyron Whiteley.

Since moving up to middleweight in 2019, Till has a record of 1-2. In his most recent fights, Till lost back-to-back bouts to Robert Whittaker (and Derek Brunson).
