Ramirez found a plus in Bivol’s choice in favor of Canelo

Mexican Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) dreamed of a fight for the WBA Super light heavyweight title with Russian champion Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs), but he chose to fight with the absolute lower division Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez (57 -2-2, 39 KOs).

In May, Bivol beat a star opponent and entered top 10 P4P rating.

Ramirez thinks it’s even better: “I’m only interested in one fight now – with Bivol. After all, now he has become a very recognizable boxer. And that’s just a plus for me. After all, by defeating Bivol, I will take everything that he has from him. And above all, his championship title. I should have fought him before Canelo but he wanted to fight Saul first. It’s even better, because he beat Canelo, gaining recognition and authority.

Former divisional champion Ramirez said he “wants to take the title again, then do a couple of unifications – this will help end his career as a boxing legend.”

Coach Bivol considers “Ramirez absolutely passable.” And the promoter of the Mexican Oscar De La Hoya said that the Russian already has an opponent, we are waiting for the official decision of the WBA.
