“I know he’s a tough opponent,” MMA Junkie quoted the American as saying. “I’ve prepared very well for this fight, and I’m ready for anything. I’m going to shock everyone this Saturday, and his record will be 17-1.”
At the moment, the probability of Primus winning is estimated at less than ten percent, but the former champion is more than happy with his multiple underdog status.
“I like being an underdog. I feel like I perform better when the odds are against me. I don’t like it when people say, ‘You’re going to win easily, you’re going to go out there and finish this guy off.’ I like being the underdog, it’s happened quite a few times and I’ve proved people wrong about me. So, I’m going to shock the world, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen.”
Recall that the lightweight title fight between the Russian and the American, the winner of which will advance to the grand prix finals, will headline Bellator 300 in San Diego on October 7.
