Former interim UFC champion Dustin Poirier intends to use the fight against current belt holder Charles Oliveira as a charity event.
After the fight, which is due to take place at the UFC 269 tournament in December, Poirier intends to auction his equipment. The money received will go to charity: Poirier wants to buy food for 300,000 meals for low-income families from South Louisiana, the fighter’s homeland.
Poirier last fought against former UFC two-weight champion Irishman Conor McGregor in July in Las Vegas. Dustin won by TKO in this fight in the first round after Conor broke his leg.
