Petr Yan named the dates for the next fight

Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan opened up about when he plans to return to the octagon and why he turned down the opportunity to replace the injured Henry Cejudo against Marlon Vera at UFC 292 in Boston.

“I think I’ll be back towards the end of the year,” Yan told reporters in St. Petersburg. “There is no understanding with whom yet. Now I’m not ready to speak. I am recovering, I have had certain injuries and need more time to recover. When you don’t train for four months, it’s pointless to go to the fight. I’ll reboot now and come back”

Earlier that the Russian fighter is not going to fight with the representative of Ecuador in August, said his manager Sayat Abdrakhmanov.

Recall that 30-year-old Petr Yan is on a series of three defeats, losing by separate decisions to Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley, and also losing by unanimous decision to Merab Dvalishvili. At the moment, the Russian closes the top five of the UFC’s lightest division.
