Paulo Costa called the condition of the fight with Khamzat Chimaev in Abu Dhabi

If Paulo Costa has to wait until October for a fight with Khamzat Chimaev, the Brazilian wants to receive financial compensation from the UFC for his long inactivity.

“Yes, I think that the fight with Khamzat Chimaev will take place – they want to fight it in October in Abu Dhabi,” Costa said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “But you have to wait six months, and that’s the problem. They don’t want to do it sooner because they need big fights for the Abu Dhabi tournament. I want them to give me another fight before that, for example, in June, or pay financial compensation for the downtime. We are discussing this now.”

Last week there was information about the development of a light heavyweight fight between Paulo Costa and Jan Blachowicz, which was supposed to take place on May 6 at UFC 288 in Newark, however, both fighters publicly accused each other of pulling out of the fight.

Recall that on October 21, the UFC 294 tournament will be held in Abu Dhabi, the main event of which should be a title fight with the current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
