UFC Fight Night 183 Main Event
This coming weekend, the UFC will hold its next tournament in their backyard – at the “UFC APEX” in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA). The UFC Fight Night 183 card show features the once formidable ex-champion of the promotion.
At the headline of the show, former UFC lightweight title holder Dos Anjos will take on top 10 lightweight Felder, who will replace Islam Makhachev, who has contracted a staph infection, on 5 days’ notice.
Dos Anjos, who has been in the UFC for 12 years, will fight his first fight at lightweight in four years. He started his career in the welterweight division with three wins in a row, but since 2018 there has been a distinct decline in his career – four losses in five fights. Dos Anjos will return after a series of two decision losses to Leon Edwards and Michael Chiesa.
Felder will also try to close the loss. In February, he lost in a 5-round spectacular fight to Dan Hooker by a split decision of the judges. Before that, Felder had won five out of six fights.
Prediction for the fight
Dos Anjos is an overall versatile fighter, he is strong in Muay Thai and BJJ and is not easy to finish. Felder is a very good striker, having been a good karate and taekwondo player in the past. Unlike his opponent, Felder has decent punching power, and Paul also excels in his cardio.
Dos Anjos will probably try to capitalize on the ground, but he has a lot to offer on the stand. Felder, on the other hand, will be looking to keep the fight on his feet, trying to force trades. Given the resilience of the fighters, it is quite possible to assume that the fight will go the whole distance, mainly in the standing position. We believe that Felder, despite the circumstances, will come to the fight in good shape and, due to his more powerful punches, will be able to convince the judges to give him preference.
