Parker wants a rematch. But not with Joyce

New Zealand ex-world champion Joseph Parker (30-3, 21 KOs) has three defeats in profiring. And only one early – in September, he lost by knockout in a fight for a temporary WBO belt to Briton Joe Joyce.

The previous two failures of the ex-champion date back to 2018. First, he lost in unification to the British champion Anthony Joshua, and then lost to another British representative, Dillian Whyte (29-3, 19 KOs).

It is with the latest Parker
dreams rematch: “Why White? I respect him, I think that he has achieved a lot in boxing. I would like to fight again with him, because we just got a great first fight. Why not repeat? He has had a great winning streak since then. Me too. Therefore, if I brightly finish off the next opponent, I would like to get the opportunity to get even with him for that defeat. Dillian, be careful! I’m coming for you!”

We will see Parker in action very soon – on January 21 in Manchester (UK) he will fight with the local ex-cruiser (IBO champion) Jack Massey. But it’s not a fact that White is interested in a rematch. He is one of the top contenders for a much more financially profitable fight – with Joshua.

Leading up to the fight, Parker stated, “I want an explosive finish.” And a little earlier, he shared his prediction for the Usyk vs Fury fight. Do you know how the ex-champion celebrated the New Year? “I’ll wrap a present for myself, put it under the tree, sit next to me and sing a song.”
