Paddy Pimblett has given his predictions for his fight with Tony Ferguson

British prospect Paddy Pimblett, who is set to share the octagon with Tony Ferguson in two months time, wants to become the first fighter in history to manage to dismantle “El Cucuy” in the first round.

“Of course I want to be champion, it goes without saying, but I can’t get ahead of myself given my last performance,” Pimblett told The Schmo. “All I’m thinking about right now is going out there and finishing Tony Ferguson in the first round, making a statement. Let everyone know what they’ve been missing and then look for fights against ranked opponents in the new year.”

The lightweight fight, which the Brit approaches on a six-fight win streak and the American on a six-fight losing streak, takes place on December 16 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas.

Neither fighter is currently ranked among the top 15 fighters in the organization’s lightweight division.
