UFC on ESPN 15 tournament bout
On the night of August 22-23, Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) will host the UFC on ESPN 15 mixed martial arts tournament.
update. The fight was canceled because Saint Preux was diagnosed with the coronavirus.
In the co-main bout, the famous light heavyweight Saint Preux will meet with Menifield, who will replace on short notice the undefeated Shamil Gamzatov, who, due to the pandemic, was unable to leave Russia.
We last saw Saint Preux in May when he lost a split decision to Ben Rothwell on his heavyweight debut. The loss was the fourth for the fighter of Haitian origin in the last six fights.
Power puncher Manifield won two of his UFC opening fights by knockout, finishing Vinicius Moreira and Paul Craig, but suffered his first career loss at UFC 250 in June. His first full-distance fight was recorded by Devin Clark.
Prediction for the fight
Saint Preux was showing a strong chin for the Rothwell fight and he will need it in the upcoming fight. Menifield has deadly power in his punches, before UFC 250 his fights lasted a maximum of 5.5 minutes of pure time. But as it turned out, he has a problem with stamina. Despite a good start against Clark, he suddenly became vulnerable in the second round.
Basically, it all comes down to a simple question: “Can OSP survive the flurry in the first round?” If Menifield manages to knock out the veteran with a swoop, then he will win the biggest victory of his career. If Saint-Preux holds out, then in the future he has every chance of submitting the opponent. Saint Preux withstood all the blows of such a huge knockout as Rothwell, so we give him preference in this pair.
Saint-Preux wins by submission in the 2nd round
