UFC Fight Night 177 co-main event
Next Sunday, UFC APEX in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) will once again host the tournament of the world’s leading promotion without the admission of spectators. And UFC Fight Night 177 is another UFC event hit by COVID-19.
In the co-main event, we will have a duel between the still little-known lightweights Azaitar and Worthy.
Azaitar, who plays for Germany, is undefeated in MMA, having won all 12 of his fights, 9 by knockout and 2 by submission. He fought his only fight in the UFC a year ago in Abu Dhabi at UFC 242, effectively knocking out Teemu Pacalena.
Worthy made his debut with the promotion a little over a year ago and has fought two fights since then. First, he was knocked out in the first round by Devonte Smith, and then at the July UFC on ESPN 12 tournament he was guillotine strangled by Louis Pena.
Prediction for the fight
A good boxer with a decent punch, Azaitar loses as much as 10 cm in height to his counterpart, who is also good in the stance and can knock out, but has better grappling skills.
Although Worthy looks confident in the stand, a fight on the ground may be more profitable for him. However, Azaitar looks like a physically powerful athlete and due to this he can impose his game on him – infighting and clinches. Considering Azaitar’s heavy fists and Worthy’s fragile jaw (five out of six knockout losses), let’s assume the German continues his winning path in the UFC.
