WBC heavyweight champion Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) made a voluntary defense of his title over the weekend, ahead of compatriot Derek Chisora (33-13, 23 KOs).
After the fight, the owner of all other belts of the division, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), went up to the ring to the winner. Presumably in the first half of next year, they will meet in a head-to-head fight and determine the absolute world champion, the first in the era of four belts.
Top British coach Dominic Ingle
doubts in the victory of a compatriot: “I saw that on Saturday they had already arranged a duel of views. Usyk looked confident, licking his lips contentedly. But I don’t believe he can beat Fury. As for me, Tyson in his optimal form will catch Usyk. And neither his technique nor his elusiveness will help the Ukrainian. After all, Fury is the biggest heavyweight of all time. He will cut the corners of the ring, exhaust and beat Usyk. That’s what I believe in.”
Earlier, about the same forecast was shared by the promoter of the Briton: Fury will shorten Usyk. And the boss of the WBC expressed his opinion about the fight. You will like what you hear.
