Now Wilder. Andy Ruiz names next target

Former world heavyweight champion Mexican Andy Ruiz Jr. (35-2, 22 KOs) after a tight points victory over Cuban veteran Luis Ortiz last night in Los Angeles (USA) confirmed his desire to fight another former American champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) to determine the only contender for the WBC title.

Wilder is scheduled to fight Robert Helenius on October 15. Andy hopes for Deontay’s victory and is sure that their mutual promoter Al Haymon will do everything right.

“God willing, he (Wilder) will beat Robert in October. We are in favor of the same organization with him, ”Ruiz recalled in an interview after the victory. “I want to thank Al Haymon. He can arrange this fight. So let’s do it.”

Interestingly, even before entering the ring with Ortiz, Ruiz announced that he wanted a third fight with Joshua.
