Not Lomachenko. Ex-champ about opponent Haney after rematch with Kambosos

American ex-world champion Mickey Bay shared his thoughts on the career of his sidekick – current holder of all lightweight belts compatriot Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs). He went to Australia in early June and inflicted a debut defeat on the local champion George Kambosos Jr. (20-1, 10 KOs), taking away all the titles from him. According to the terms of the contract, the fighters will meet in revenge before the end of the year.

Bay is already talking aboutwhat happens next: “And then Devin goes up against (WBA World Champion) Gervonta “Tank” Davis. Yes, the fight with “Tank” will take place immediately after the rematch with Kambosos. No, no, Devin is not one of those guys who will say “Give me something simple.” If real money is at stake, then this fight will take place. For me, Haney vs Davis is the second most awesome fight in boxing. Cooler only Terence Crawford vs Errol Spence. And that is only for the reason that it has been marinated for a long time.

Bay is confident that Haney has an incredible career ahead of him: “I’ve never seen him lose even one round in sparring, even if it’s not his day. The main thing is that he remains the same outside the ring. And I know that it will be so, because this kid is not trying to pretend to be a gangster or some kind of street fighter. Don’t forget that he is still very young. He will get better and better. He practically doesn’t miss, which means he can box for a very long time – about 15 years.”

Meanwhile, one of Haney’s potential opponents, compatriot Ryan Garcia, admitted to cheating. Devin said last month that he was “hoping to fight Lomachenko instead of a rematch with Kambosos.” A browser ESPN recalled the criminal invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine: “Lomachenko saw dead bodies.”
