On June 7, Saitama (Japan) will host a rematch for unification of titles in the bantamweight (up to 53.5 kg) between the Japanese WBA / IBF world champion Naoya Inoue (22-0, 19 KOs) and Filipino Nonito Donaire (42-6, 28 KOs), who owns the WBC belt.

Recall that their first meeting took place in November 2019 and ended with a labor victory for Inoue on points.

This time, the stellar Filipino veteran promises even more fireworks, but with a different result.

“Our first fight was brutal and amazing, it was a classic, but the rematch will be even better,” assured the 39-year-old Nonito. “I’m going into this monumental fight with renewed vigor because the first fight with Inoue was an awakening for me and now I know I can beat him.”

“I am incredibly grateful to Richard Schafer and Probellum for making this fight a reality for me, because not only me, but the whole world wanted it. There will be a special evening for our sport in Japan on June 7th and rest assured that it will end with Donaire winning,” the Filipino said.
