The legendary veteran from Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) is not going to hang up his gloves immediately after Saturday’s fight with the Mexican Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) – he will try to take away the title of absolute super middleweight champion from him weight.

Despite the fact that Golovkin has already exchanged his fifth decade, the Kazakhstani
promises stay in boxing regardless of the result of Saturday’s fight: “I have many plans that do not depend on the result of this particular fight. How likely is a fourth fight with Canelo? If such an offer is received, then I will answer: “Why not?” If the fans want to see our fourth fight…”
Golovkin reminds that it is too early for him to say goodbye to boxing, as “I have three titles (WBA Super, IBF and an insignificant IBO) in the middleweight division. Don’t forget about it! I have a lot of plans: fights in Mexico, in the USA, in Australia, maybe in Kazakhstan. So stop it guys. I retired three years ago. And now I’m staying here, I’m not going anywhere.”
The upcoming fight is the third in the confrontation between Golovkin and Canelo. It all started in 2017 with a controversial draw, and 12 months later, Alvarez won in a rematch. Those two fights the antagonists held in middleweight.
