The “interim” WBO super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Briton John Ryder (31-5, 17 KOs) really hopes that the rumors will be confirmed, and he will become the next opponent of the absolute division champion, Mexican star Canelo Alvarez (58-2 -2, 39 KOs) in early May 2023.
At the same time, John is not going to give up his favorite manner in favor of the “recipe from Bivol”.
Canelo Alvarez’s next opponent: it looks like everything is already clear
“I know Eddie Hearn is the one to do it all. I’m sure he’s in touch with Alvarez and Reynoso on a daily basis, so I hope I’ll be in the opposite corner of the ring for Cinco de Mayo,” says Ryder. How am I going to beat him? Well, I once mentioned a baseball bat, but everyone took it with hostility and turned against me. So no baseball bats.”
“Seriously, Dmitry Bivol showed how to beat Canelo from a distance, on a shuttle. But I am a fighter of a different plan, ”the Briton honestly noted. “So I’m going to lean on what I can do best, break through to the nearest one and work from there.”
Ryder previously explained why he should be Alvarez’s next opponent.
