Nikita Krylov forced Ryan Spann to surrender at UFC Fight Night 221 in Las Vegas

Two weeks after a severe poisoning and forced postponement of the fight against Ryan Spann, Russian light heavyweight Nikita Krylov scored an early victory over the American, defending the sixth line in the division ranking.

The catchweight fight, which became the third most important event of the UFC Fight Night 221 tournament, ended at 3:38 of the first round with Shakhtar’s victory by triangle choke.

Having finished the opponent, the Russian, whom Western journalists stubbornly called the Ukrainian fighter before the fight, emotionally turned to the audience present at the arena.

USA! USA! So now what? Russia! Russia!” Krylov shouted.

In an interview after the fight, the Russian fighter, who won the third victory in a row, apologized for the forced postponement of the match, and also stated that he would like to become a participant in the candidate fight.
