This time, the former challenger for the UFC lightweight championship belt said that he would like to headline the UFC 300 anniversary tournament, which will be held on April 13 in Las Vegas.
“I was supposed to headline the UFC 200 tournament. Headlining UFC 300 would have been better,” Diaz wrote on social media.
In July 2016, a rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz was supposed to headline the UFC 200 anniversary tournament in Las Vegas, however, the fight was canceled after the Irishman refused to participate in promoting the numbered event.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Nate Diaz will fight his next fight under boxing rules against former rival Jorge Masvidal, to whom he lost by technical knockout due to a severe dissection at UFC 244 in New York in November 2019.
Nate Diaz retired from the UFC after an early victory over Tony Ferguson, whom he finished by guillotine choke in the fourth round, and last August, the 38-year-old American made an unsuccessful professional boxing debut, losing by unanimous decision to blogger Jake Paul at the end of ten rounds.
