Nassurdin Imavov challenged Kamar Usman

No. 8 ranked UFC middleweight Nassurdin Imavov expects to compete in the organization’s debut event in Saudi Arabia and would like to see former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman as his next opponent.

The Dagestan native, who represents France, made the announcement on social media, referring to the Nigerian.

“Welcome to middleweight, Kamaru Usman!” wrote Imavov. “Styles make fights! June 22, UFC in Saudi Arabia.”

Earlier this month, Nassurdin Imavov defeated Roman Dolidze by majority decision over three rounds, thus closing out a unanimous decision loss to Sean Strickland and a subsequent fight against Chris Curtis that was ruled a no contest due to an accidental head clash.

After suffering two losses in title fights to Leon Edwards, Kamaru Usman made his debut in the organization’s middleweight division last October at short notice, losing by majority decision to Khamzat Chimaev by a three-round majority decision on the judges’ scorecards.

This week, “The Nigerian Nightmare” lost his spot in the UFC’s P4P rankings, in which he held the fifteenth position.
