Representatives of the Russian league officially announced that the quarterfinal fight of the ACA heavyweight grand prix between Grigory Ponomarev and Muhumat Vakhaev, which was supposed to take place on July 21 at the ACA 160 tournament in Moscow, is being transferred to the UFC 161 tournament card, scheduled for August 11. The reason for the transfer is personal problems and the state of health of Vakhaev.
27-year-old Grigory Ponomarev successfully defended the AMC Fight Nights heavyweight championship belt in March, finishing with a technical knockout of his compatriot Yusup Shuaev in the first round.
33-year-old Muhumat Vakhaev has been alternating victories with defeats for the last two years, having lost a unanimous decision to Evgeny Goncharov in the previous fight.
