Named favorite in the battle of Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler

Despite a long downtime, former dual UFC champion Conor McGregor will be the favorite to face former Bellator champion and former UFC lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler.

McGregor’s current odds are 1.714 (58.33% chance) while Chandler’s win is 2.2 (45.45% chance).

Bookmakers have released starting odds shortly after UFC president Dana White officially named the Irishman and American as coaches for the next 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, which is set to begin filming soon.

The first episode of the TV project will be shown on ESPN on May 30, and the final episode will air on August 15.

According to White, McGregor and Chandler’s coaching fight will be the main event of the numbered event, which will be announced soon. At the same time, sports commentator Ariel Helwani, citing informed sources, said that the fight would take place in September.

Michael Chandler, 36, last fought last November, losing to Poirier via rear naked choke in the third round. Six months earlier, the American closed a two-loss streak by knocking out Tony Ferguson in the second round.

34-year-old Conor McGregor last entered the octagon in July 2021, having suffered a severe leg fracture in a duel against Dustin Poirier, and six months before that, he lost to Diamond by knockout in the second round.
