Muhammad Mokaev announced a medical verdict on a knee injury

Muhammad Mokaev, a 22-year-old native of Dagestan, who suffered a knee injury in a duel against Brazilian Zhafel Filho at UFC 286 in London, plans to resume the training process within two months.

“In 6-8 weeks I will return to training,” Mokaev wrote on the social network. “Thanks for all your messages – I got crazy support from you! One day I’ll be a champion!”

One of the fans clarified the diagnosis and asked if he understood correctly that there was no need for an operation.

“Partial rupture of the medial ligament of the knee of the second degree,” the fighter replied. “That’s right, the operation is not needed, but just in case, I will take another picture when the swelling subsides.”

Mokaev also made it clear that he wants to see one of the top fighters in the flyweight division as his next opponent.

“I still don’t hear anything from top 15 opponents. Just imagine – a 22-year-old guy calls these old people, and they play silent”

On March 18 at UFC 286 in London, the undefeated Muhammad Mokaev won his fourth victory in the organization, finishing Jafel Filho with a broken neck at 4:32 of the third round. Before bringing the bout to an end, the England fighter managed to extricate himself from a difficult position by preventing the Brazilian from finishing the fight with a knee lever.
