Two days earlier, Evloev volunteered on a short notice to replace the injured Jonathan Pierce and meet with Mitchell, who was left without an opponent, and today UFC representatives officially confirmed the organization of the fight.
Last June, 29-year-old Movsar Evloev won his sixth victory in the UFC, winning a unanimous decision over American Dan Ige, and 28-year-old Bryce Mitchell suffered his first loss in December in December, losing to Ilia Topuria by arm triangle choke in the second round.
The fight between Evloev and Mitchell was supposed to head the UFC Fight Night 214 tournament in Las Vegas last November, however, the Russian was injured and dropped out of the event.
Movsar Evloev and Bryce Mitchell are currently ranked tenth and eleventh in the UFC featherweight rankings, respectively.
