Morning Report: According to King Mo Lawal, ‘Healthy Jiri’ Prochazka will beat Jon Jones.

Jiri Prochazka is the truth.

The now-former champion is waiting on the sidelines until his eventual return to action after a severe shoulder injury forced him out of action. Prochazka is chomping, at the bit, hoping a title return bout takes place sooner rather than later.

Prochazka would be facing Jamahal Hill as the undisputed heavyweight champion. But for Denisa’s old rival Muhammad King Mo Lawal, there are no limits for the Czech Republic’s best.

“I believe that a healthy Jiri will beat Jon Jones.” ‘King Mo” told Chael Sonnen . Jon Jones is an excellent fighter. He’s probably the greatest of all-time. But, to defeat someone as technical you must get into his ear. He must be fought like a 3-minute fight against a tough man. Jiri fights at a high pace. He’s reckless. He won’t try and out-technique or beat you.

“I think that’s the style that would give Jon Jones problems. I’m not saying he’s gonna win, but that’s the style that Jon Jones at 205 would have issues with.”

Since Jones vacated the 205-pound title in early 2020, Prochazka has remained a model of consistency, debuting in the UFC with stellar knockout wins over former title challengers Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes. Prochazka first claimed light heavyweight gold with a June 2022 win over Glover Teixeira.

“Jiri was used to 20-5-5 and you see what he did when he made his debut in the UFC,” Lawal said. Lawal said that he had confidence, was strong, and had great gas. It was f ****** incredible to see him sit there. Jiri just laid there .”
