UFC Fight Night 207 Tournament Match
The fight will take place on June 5 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the UFC Apex complex and will be one of the main ones at the UFC Fight Night 207 tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 00:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
Featherweight champion Michael Trizano (9-2) will face Lucas Almeida (13-1).
“Lone wolf” Trizano in 2018 became the winner of the 27th season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, but he subsequently failed to become a UFC star. Michael has lost two of his last three fights and will have to try to close his February unanimous decision loss to Hakeem Davod.
Almeida last September failed to secure a ticket to the UFC through Dana White’s Challenger Series. However, in November, having won a quick submission from a certain Italo Tridade in the Brazilian Jungle Fight League, Lucas still got into the UFC and he will make his debut there next weekend.
Almeida has good BJJ skills, but he is still the most dangerous in the standing position and has won 8 of his 13 victories by knockout. The Brazilian is a clean finisher, which cannot be said about Trizano.
But Trizano is more experienced and generally more balanced as a fighter. Trizano, due to skill and experience, has a good chance of winning a decision victory over Almeida, which has not yet been tested at a high level. However, we will give preference to the underdog, which, in our opinion, has a good chance of taking advantage of Trizano’s flaws in the ground or hit him with one of his “bombs”.
