Michael Chandler clears up Conor McGregor fight

Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler is probably the last person to believe that his fight with Conor McGregor will actually happen.

“I think Conor will come back,” Chandler said in an interview with Daniel Cormier. “I don’t believe he wants to tarnish his legacy by taking us all down the road, ‘I’m in TUF, fighting Michael Chandler – it’s not that big of a deal, I’m not coming back'”

“Supposedly, there was a countdown from USADA regarding the six-month review period, but this issue is not in my competence. Have there been exceptions before? People say yes. I think this option is also being considered.

“I am in control of what I can control and I am moving forward anyway with the belief that I will fight Conor McGregor for the next six months and we will hit record pay-per-view sales. And I’m going to go out and knock him out no later than the second round.”

In order for Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler to headline the last numbered UFC event of the current year, the Irish fighter had to return to the American Anti-Doping Agency testing pool by June 16, which he did not, despite all the promises.

Recall that the strongest league in the world will close the year with the UFC 296 tournament, which will be held on December 16 in Las Vegas.
