Michael Chandler called Islam Makhachev kryptonite

Former Bellator champion and former UFC lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler knows how to beat the division’s reigning champion, Islam Makhachev, who made a successful defense of the belt this past weekend, knocking out Alexander Volkanovski as early as the first round.

“The plan for twelve months is to knock Conor out and knock Islam out,” the American wrote on social media. “Islam hasn’t fought anyone who gets mad at the sight of blood, he hasn’t been in a ‘bone to bone’ fight. He only fought technicians, impeccable fighters. Bone-to-bone fighting is his kryptonite.”

Chandler also hinted that his fight with Conor McGregor will be announced in the very near future.

“I hope to be part of the announcement from Dana White this week. Ready and waiting.”

A bout between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor could reportedly headline the UFC 300 event, which takes place in March or April next year.

As for Islam Makhachev, Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje are both contenders to fight him, but the Brazilian has a better chance of getting the next title shot.
