Merab Dvalishvili told how to avoid a fight with Umar Nurmagomedov

If the UFC pushes him to fight Umar Nurmagomedov instead of putting him up against Corey Sandhagen or Henry Cejudo, UFC #1 bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili will have surgery to fix his hand problems.

“I have an operation planned, but I can do it before the fight, or after it – it will depend on who I will fight,” the Georgian fighter said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “If they give me Corey Sandhagen, I’m ready to fight him next week – I don’t need surgery. If I fight Henry Cejudo, I don’t need surgery.”

“I love these fights and I’ll just eat a stronger mouthguard to endure the pain. These fights excite me. This is the third and fourth number, the highest level fighters, and they deserve it. I like these fights, but not the fight with Umar Nurmagomedov. He’s number 12 and I’m not happy with this fight because he didn’t deserve it. I have been in the UFC for more than five years and spent eleven fights, and I never refused, I always said yes. ”

Earlier, Merab Dvalishvili refused to fight Umar Nurmagomedov, citing a hand injury and lack of time to prepare, however, today it became known that the Russian will enter his next fight as the headliner of the event, which leaves some intrigue and suggests that it is possible it is too early to put an end to this story.
