Merab Dvalishvili surpasses Petr Yan in UFC rankings

A confident victory over former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan ensured Merab Dvalishvili’s first place in the division rankings, from which he displaced American Sean O’Malley.

At the same time, the Russian fighter, who lost to the representative of Georgia by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 221 in Las Vegas, dropped two lines, finding himself in fourth position.

The next update of the rating also affected the Ecuadorian Marlon Vera, who moved from fourth to third place in the list of the best fighters in the division.

Recall that the fight in the bantamweight division between Yan and Dvalishvili, who headed the next event of the strongest league in the world, went the whole distance and ended with a score of 50-45 in favor of the Georgian fighter, who dominated the opponent for all five rounds.

A day after the fight, the Russian reported that the reason for the unsuccessful performance was an injury that did not allow him to move normally and work in the rack.
