Merab Dvalishvili responded to Sean O’Malley’s outburst

UFC lightweight number two Merab Dvalishvili has responded to a joke by the division’s current champion, Sean O’Malley, who claimed to have knocked out the Georgian fighter at the same time as his friend Aljamain Sterling.

“None of this makes any sense, Champ. Say what you want to say. I’m next in line and ready to fight! And you?”,” Dvalishvili wrote in the social network, quoting the American.

On the eve of the next edition of the program “The MMA Hour” O’Malley stated the following:

“I knocked out Merab on August 19 – the same day I knocked out Aljo. It’s the same thing. They’re together everywhere, they walk together, they walk by the pen – it’s the same person. That’s why I knocked out both of them on August 19.”

The champion also confirmed that he is set to make his first title defense this December against division number six Marlon Vera, who handed him the only defeat of his career three years ago.

On August 19 at UFC 292 in Boston, Sean O’Malley took the championship belt from Aljamain Sterling, defeating his compatriot by technical knockout in the second round.
