Merab Dvalishvili: “I made Peter Yan more modest!”

Having beaten Petr Yan in a dominant style, the UFC bantamweight number three, Merab Dvalishvili, is ready to help his friend Aljamain Sterling, who owns the championship belt, clear the division.

“I’m ready to fight anyone,” the Georgian fighter said at a press conference after UFC Fight Night 221. “I want to be active and I’m ready to fight anyone. Whom the UFC chooses to compete with me, I will fight with that, I have no problem with that. The only problem is that Aljo and I are two friends, two teammates. My best friend is a champion, and I am one of the top contenders, and we will clean this division with him. ”

Dvalishvili says he’s ready to face the winner of Marlon Vera vs. Corey Sandhagen, who will headline UFC on ESPN 43 in San Antonio on March 25.

“Of course I would like to fight a winner. I will do it with pleasure. Aljo and I are going to come to this fight and see it live. If the UFC wants to give me a winner, I will take this fight. Like I said, I’m ready to fight anyone. No problem”

Dvalishvili also spoke about his opponent, whom he defeated in each of the five rounds.

“I don’t think Petr Yan is a good person, and I think this defeat will make him think, and he will start to respect other fighters. Before that, he believed that he was better, that he was number one, and I was zero. You can’t treat people like that. He used to disrespect me, but now he will respect me. I made it more modest”

Recall that the fight between Jan and Dvalishvili, who headed the event held in Las Vegas, went the whole distance and ended with the defeat of the Russian with a score of 50-45 three times.
