Merab Dvalishvili had an accident.

Contender for the UFC lightweight championship belt, Merab Dvalishvili, was involved in a major five-car accident.

The corresponding video the Georgian fighter published in the social network.

“It’s crazy,” Dvalishvili said. “I’ve been in New York for one day and I’ve already been in a big accident. I was in a cab and our car was hit by other cars. I was sitting in the passenger seat in the back. I was hit on my side, but thank God I’m OK”

Merab Dvalishvili, 33, picked up his tenth straight win with a unanimous decision over Henry Cejudo at UFC 298 in Anaheim this past February, and his next opponent will be current UFC flyweight champion Sean O’Malley, a fight that has yet to be officially announced.

According to rumors, the title fight could be part of the UFC 306 event, which takes place on September 14 at the Sphere Arena in Las Vegas.
