Mayweather show and the tin of the day: what happened to Fury’s failed rival

Yesterday in Dubai (UAE), British light heavyweight Tommy Fury (8-0, 4 KOs) was supposed to box on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather with a certain American
Paul Bamba (5-2, 4 KOs), but the fight was canceled after a scandalous weigh-in.

Firstly, it turned out that Fury weighs almost 3 kg more than agreed. But that’s not all. The fighters really had different contracts with different prescribed weight limits (although Fury did not fit into the limit anyway). That is, Bamba was simply “thrown”, setting a priori unequal conditions.

Boxer behaved appropriately. He was ready to enter the ring, but demanded for this to increase his fee at the expense of Fury’s fee – this is a widespread practice for such cases.

But the organizer of the show – Global Titans Fight Series solved the problem in a different way. They threw the fighter out of the hotel, canceled his return flight home and left him without money in the UAE. And Fury found a new opponent, while they also decided to play it safe.

In the main event of the show, Mayweather beat YouTuber Deji. It’s funny that the audience had to wait a long time for the appearance of the legend – he refused to enter the ring until YouTuber Jake Paul was taken away.

reacted on the episode: “Mayweather’s worker approached Paul and said that Floyd would not enter the ring until he left. Jake left the arena so that the audience would not have to wait any longer. In hindsight, maybe Jake should have stayed and saved the fans from this ridiculous stunt they were given as a real fight.”

There are, however, really cool exhibition fights. For example, Hatton and Barrera first posed with Bridges, and then had a great fight.
