Mayweather-Moore fight cancelled: president dies

The boxing evening on May 14 in Dubai (UAE), the main event of which was supposed to be the exhibition fight of the legendary American Floyd Mayweather against the little-known Don Moore, has been canceled.

According to
TMZthis happened in connection with the death of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has held office since 2004.

Due to the death of the sheikh, government officials suspended “work in ministries, departments, federal and local agencies, and the private sector” for the next three days.

It is possible that the organizers will try to reschedule the show until the end of next week. There has been no official comment on this yet.

At the same time, Mayweather has already expressed his condolences: “I express my condolences to the entire UAE. Rest in peace Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.”
