Marlon Vera: “I’m going to run over O’Malley and leave the octagon with a bag of money and a belt”

UFC flyweight title challenger Marlon Vera is confident he can repeat his success from three years ago with an early victory over current division champion Sean O’Malley.

“I’m going to beat the d****o out of him and leave the octagon with a bag of money and a belt,” “Cheeto” said in an interview with Michael Bisping. “I really believe I’m going to make him give up. I really believe that all that will be left of him is a pale shell that will be begging me to stop when I beat him up.”

“Shawn is a talented guy and he can fight, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again now – he’s not going to put up a hard fight. He’s a guy who can move and he plans on using his athleticism, but I’m going to make him fight. He’s going to have to come face to face with me. I’m going to run him over, stop him, and become world champion.”

The Ecuadorian fighter inflicted the only defeat of his career on the American in August 2020, finishing him by first-round technical knockout, and their rematch will be the main event of UFC 299 on March 9.
