Brazilian middleweight Marcio Santos considers his upcoming opponent Russian heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko a boxer, not an MMA fighter.
“I am surprised that Emelianenko became my rival,” Santos said in an interview with SE. He has good boxing. I don’t think he has good mixed martial arts skills. Emelianenko is not an MMA fighter, he only boxing.”
“The fight with Emelianenko is business, as are the fights with Alexander Shlemenko and Artur Huseynov,” Santos added. – I had a good and hard fight with Huseynov, and with Shlemenko too. But he beat Shlemenko and defeated Huseynov twice.”
Emelianenko and Santos will headline the AMC Fight Nights 106 tournament, which will take place today, November 27, in Syktyvkar. Emelianenko has 28 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw. Santos has 16 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw.
