Makhmudov was ordered to give a fight to the Kazakh knockout – media

On December 16 in Shawinigan (Canada), Russian-born heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov (15-0, 14 KOs) was supposed to fight the huge Nigerian Rafael Akpegiori (14-0, 13 KOs).

According to
RingPolskathis fight will not take place – “the opponent withdrew from the fight, it is not known who will become the new rival of the Russian.”

But it is already known that after this fight, Makhmudov is obliged to defend the WBC Silver title against the Kazakhstani puncher Jean Kosobutsky (19-0, 18 KOs) – such a decision was made at 60th WBC Congress.

If suddenly Makhmudov refuses to fight, he will lose the title.

Another cool news from the WBC and RingPolska:

On February 25, a boxing evening will be held in Rzeszow (Poland), within the framework of which the debut defense of the WBC champion title in bridgerweight will take place – Colombian Oscar Rivas (28-1, 19 KOs) will fight with local contender Lukasz Rozanski (14-0, 13 KOs).

And at the opening act, the vacant EBU European heavyweight title will be played by the Pole Michal Cieslak (23-2, 17 KOs) and the Frenchman
Dylan Brejon (12-2-1, 3 KOs).

Previously, Brejon was offered to fight the Pole Krzysztof Glowacki, but he gave the go-ahead for a fight with a knockout prospect. Now he’s threatening to retire.
