The Russian, who knocked out Alexander Volkanovski in the first round, surpassed the Australian in the list of the organization’s best fighters regardless of weight class, but was unable to displace Jon Jones, who remained in first place in the UFC’s P4P rankings.
Khamzat Chimaev, who defeated Kamara Usman by majority decision in the middleweight division, moved from the welterweight division rankings, where he was ranked fourth, to the organization’s top ten middleweights, settling in at number nine on the list.
The Nigerian retained the top spot in the welterweight rankings, but lost six positions on the P4P list, dropping to thirteenth place.
Recall that Khamzat Chimaev will be the next opponent of the current UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland, and Islam Makhachev will hold the next defense of his UFC lightweight title against Charles Oliveira or Justin Gaethje.
