Makabu already has an opponent and date – shameful decisions from the WBC

WBC cruiserweight champion (up to 90.7 kg) Ilunga Makabu (29-2, 25 KOs) from the DRC will hold the next title defense on October 21 in Kinshasa (DRC) against ex-candidate from Canada Ryan Rozitzky (15-1, 14 KOs) , reports
YabisoNews.

The WBC, apparently, decided to finally ruin their reputation – this fight should not have taken place.

Makab was presented with an undeserved win over mandatory challenger Thabiso Mchun of South Africa in January of this year. Rozicki last year tried to become the first ever champion of the so-called bridgeweight lost to Colombian Oscar Rivas.

In May, in Canada, Rozitski was outplayed in all respects by the Argentinean Yamil Peralta (fought for the belt WBC International), but the judges gave Ryan an embarrassing victory. He himself after the fight admitted that the opponent was stronger, promised an immediate revenge. The WBC also confirmed that a second fight was needed – they made the belt vacant, ordered a rematch, and placed the Canadian below the Argentine in the rankings.

Apparently, they later forgot about their promise. It happens…

That’s not all. Rumor has it that the organization will give the go-ahead for another fight, which should not take place next: supposedly on October 22 in Mexico, the local flyweight champion (up to 50.8 kg) Julio Cesar Martinez (18-2, 14 KOs) will fight with the 37-year-old Jackson Chauke (21-1-2, 15 KOs) from South Africa.

The problem is that the WBC has two champions in this weight – first, Martinez must fight the holder of the interim title, Puerto Rican Macuillams Arroyo (21-4, 16 KOs). Last year, their face-to-face fight ended without a decision, but it started brightly – 3 knockdowns (and mutual) in 2 rounds.

In March, Martinez tried himself a division higher: first, he screwed up on the scales, for which he was fined (there are numbers), and directly in the battle, the legendary “Chocolatito” Gonzalez simply beat him up.
