“ACA is unequivocally, the second league in the world,” the head of the organization said at a press conference following the ACA 165 tournament. “In terms of fights, I think it’s the best league in the world. Once again, in the UFC you can see two or three, maximum, four cool fights, and in the ACA no less than seven cool fights are always welcome, plus, a couple more for an appetizer”
“I was at the UFC 294 tournament, and I’m telling you seriously – this is the kind of mess I’ve rarely seen anywhere. My son got me the best seats, we were almost inside, but the traffic was like we were on the subway. People were getting in front, or leaving – we even had a little fight about it. Their guards don’t do anything. I will say for sure – our security is the best in the world, unequivocally. And I didn’t like the fights at all. The fights were very weak, almost all of them”
According to Khasiev, the worst fight of the tournament for him was the middleweight contender fight between Hamzat Chimayev and Kamaru Usman, in which the Chechen fighter won a difficult victory by a majority of judges’ votes.
“I came to the tournament when Mokayev’s fight was over. After that I saw all the fights. Among all the fights I saw, the Chimaev one was the worst, unequivocally. The first round was good, the rest were weak. You all saw that fight. It’s objective. But, again, we can look at it from the other side. Each person tries to win the fight, not to think about whether he will be the best or not”
Recall that in the main event of the October 21 event, Russian Islam Makhacheva made a successful defense of his UFC lightweight title against Alexander Volkanovski, knocking out the Australian in the first round.
