The controversial world champion in several divisions Adrien Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs) told
Cigar Talkthat his former offender, now retired Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31 KOs), turned to him on social networks with a proposal to hold a rematch – at least as a fair fight.
In 2013, the Argentine puncher Maidana sensationally interrupted the favorite Browner before the unanimous decision of the judges. The victory brought Marcos meetings with Floyd Mayweather. He lost both of these fights, but raised so much money on them that he calmly retired.
Adrian is not against a rematch. On top of that, he seems to sympathize with Maidana: “Maidana is my nigga. This nigga just texted me wanting a rematch. Like an exhibition fight. Fak, yes. I would love to get in the ring with him again.”
It’s too late to think – our report on that meeting
Recall that the Argentine has not performed since 2014, although he was going to make a comeback several times.
“It was fun,” Broner recalls their fight, although he was definitely not in the mood for fun at the time. “It was the most fun fight I’ve ever had. Maidan, dude! Crazy but that’s rial my nigga He was the strongest opponent I have ever fought. After Floyd met with Maidana for the first time, he looked into my eyes and said: “Hey B, you are a tough bastard! I don’t know how you fought that devil bone to bone. That’s a tough nigga, he shook me.”
Maidan: After Kotelnik, the fights became difficult
On August 20, Broner is scheduled to come out of an 18-month creative suspended animation against Omar Figueroa.
Maidana named the best of the current boxers after the departure of Mayweather.
