Lopez says judges almost robbed him and Lipinets pulled out of fight

New Champion IBF

featherweight (up to 57.2 kg) Mexican slugger Luis Alberto Lopez (27-2, 15 KOs) admitted that after the announcement of the first referee card (114-114) he was afraid that he would be robbed by the judges – they would not give up a well-deserved away victory against the Briton Josh Warrington (31-2-1, 8 KOs). The fight took place on December 10 in Leeds.

According to Lopez, “I knew I had done enough to win. But when they started reading the referee’s notes, when they announced that one of the judges had seen a draw, I, frankly, began to worry, I started to wind myself up: “Dude, now they will throw you!” I was very nervous. But when the ring announcer said “the new world champion”, the tension immediately went away. It was pure happiness. I fulfilled my dream.”

According to rumors, Lopez will make his debut defense in Britain against local star Michael Conlan.

February 4 at the small arena of the sports complex Madison Square Garden (New York, USA) will host a show from Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) and
streaming

DAZN
. In the main event of the show, the legendary Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano (43-2-1, 30 KOs) will perform – the unified featherweight champion (up to 57.2 kg).

It is also planned to participate the unified champion of the second featherweight (up to 59 kg) American Alicia Baumgardner (13-1, 7 KOs). The names of the rivals have not yet been announced, but earlier it was rumored that Serrano would fight the owner of the missing WBA title from the full collection of the Mexican
Erika Cruz (15-1, 3 KOs).

It is known that in the limit up to 66.7 kg, the American prospect Reshat Mati (13-0, 7 KOs) will measure his strength with hardened compatriot Cletus Seldin (26-1, 22 KOs).

American Richardson Hitchins (15-0, 7 KOs) will also perform in the show. A fight with him was offered to the ex-world champion, a native of Kazakhstan, Sergey Lipints (17-2-1, 13 KOs), but he refused.

It was previously thought that January 28 streaming DAZN together with Golden boy Promotions
will hold a boxing evening in Phoenix (USA) – in the main event, American super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) had to box with Filipino Mercito Gesta (33-3-3, 17 KOs).

After Garcia pulled out of the fight, the company decided not to cancel the event. On January 28, the US-Mexican welterweight prospect (up to 66.7 kg) Alexis Rocha (21-1, 13 KOs) will perform in the main event. The name of his opponent has not been released. It is possible that the event will be moved to California (USA).

What do you think, Why did Garcia refuse an interim fight? And here is the scandalous version of “Tank” Davis. By the way, he worried that Ryan might be scared to fight him.
