Resorts World, Las Vegas, USA. In the evening’s main event, ex-absolute world champion American Teofimo Lopez (17-1, 13 KOs) made his debut in super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) with an early victory over Mexican Pedro Campa (34-2-1), 23 KOs ).
The favorite started the fight confidently: the right ones walked around the block, marked with an uppercut, combined. Campa could not keep up with Lopez’s manual speed and applied constant but light pressure. The stroke lasts very well.
The Mexican was forced to act more aggressively. He missed a series of right hooks in the second round, but eventually managed to corner the former champion and even landed a takedown.

In the 3rd round, Lopez caught his rhythm. Branded left hooks appeared on the jump, he played the opponent on the feet, failed or worked before the curve. If needed, he sneered in time, sometimes gloated, worked for the camera.

The 4th round proved to be a bit more competitive, but in the final seconds, Lopez delivered several unanswered punches. Kampa tried to take his tonnage, but worked with extremely low efficiency.

Underdog’s attempts to wear down the opponent did not bear fruit. Lopez stopped betting on strikes, played the opponent on his feet, punished in counterattacks. The tonnage of missed punches was affected in the 7th round – he dropped Campa.

The Mexican got up, continued the fight, but Lopez was already unstoppable: he changed racks, enjoyed what happened, hit with surgical precision, beat the underdog. The referee did not stand and stopped the fight. Did everything right.
