Lomachenko’s code has already been cracked. Shakur Stevenson considers himself the most risky

The world champion in two categories, the current holder of the WBC / WBO titles in the second featherweight (up to 59 kg), American Shakur Stevenson (18-0, 9 KOs) considers himself a more risky fighter than any of the top representatives of the now “hot” lightweight division ( up to 61.2 kg), because he had the courage to go to the unification with the unbeaten Mexican colleague Oscar Valdez.

Recall that this fight took place on April 30 and ended with a confident victory for the American on points.

“Those lightweight guys have never faced a test like me when I got into the ring against Oscar Valdez, another top contender who never lost,” Stevenson says in an interview.
DAZN. “Valdez had 30 wins and 23 knockouts, great punching power. No one at 61.2 kg is in danger of fighting someone of comparable caliber.”

But what about the victory of Teofimo Lopez over Vasily Lomachenko in October 2020?

“Well, yes, I give Lopez credit, just because it’s Lomachenko, there are no questions,” agrees Shakur. But then he develops the thought: “I just want to say that Oscar Valdez was invincible, no one could beat him, and Lomachenko … Yes, he was a pound fighter, but we saw how Lomachenko’s code was already cracked before, that’s what I mean . But I don’t take anything away from Teofimo, it was a great performance from him.”

Previously, Stevenson said he was ready to fight Lomachenko.
