Leon Edwards announces date for Colby Covington fight

Reigning UFC Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards has revealed when and where he plans to defend his title against Colby Covington.

“Feeling good, already back in training – I plan to fight in October or November, as you know, against Colby Covington,” the Briton told ESPN. “I wanted to fight in Abu Dhabi, but Madison Square Garden is a legendary arena and there are a lot of Jamaicans in New York, so both options are equal for me.”

“I don’t think Colby deserves this fight, but for some reason he’s fighting for the title. To be honest, it doesn’t really matter to me – I don’t care who I fight. It is what it is”

Recall that on October 21, the strongest league in the world will return to Abu Dhabi with the UFC 294 tournament, and on November 11, the UFC 295 tournament will take place in New York, the main event of which will be a heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic.
