UFC Fight Night 201 co-main event
The fight will take place on February 20 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the UFC Apex complex and will become a co-main event of the UFC Fight Night 201 tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 03:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
At UFC Fight Night 201, middleweight Kyle Dokos (10-2, 1 NC) was scheduled to fight Julian Marquez, but he was pulled out of the tournament and replaced by Jamie Pickett (13-6). At the same time, the Dokos-Pickett fight will take place in a contractual weight of up to 195 pounds (88.5 kg).
The younger brother of UFC heavyweight Chris Dokos, Kyle Dokos, last fought in October, when his fight against Kevin Holland was ruled a no contest after a headbutt in the first round. And up to this point, Kyle had three fights in the UFC, each of which went the whole distance – defeats to Brendan Allen and Phil Hawes and a victory over Dustin Stoltzfus.
Pickett started his career in the promotion with two losses, but then he went on a white streak and is now on a two-win streak. In October and January it passed by unanimous decision of the judges Laureano Staropoli and Joseph Holmes, respectively.
Pickett is a striker and Dokosu has the skills to compete on foot. However, as for the ground floor, Pickett is not very good in this regard, but Dokos is the owner of a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and before joining the UFC, he won 8 out of 9 fights by submission.
We predict that Pickett will not be able to cope with Dokos’ takedowns, and he will dominate the fight due to his ground game. Pickett, who had no full training for the fight, has two losses by submissions in his career, and there is every chance that he will knock on Sunday for the third time.
Dokos won by submission in the 1st round
