Kopylov’s coach: “Roman can beat Adesanya and Strickland”

Roman Kopylov’s coach, Rasul Magomedaliev, is confident that his charge, who picked up another knockout victory at UFC Fight Night 227 in the world’s strongest league, is ready to compete with any of the organization’s top middleweights, including former division champion Israel Adesanya and current titleholder Sean Strickland.

“At this point, Roman can beat anyone, absolutely no difference,” the Russian said in an interview with the channel “Ushataika”. “We know what Adesanya does. He has two moments that he does and at first everybody fell for it. Now there’s nothing he can surprise us with because I know – Roma is much faster than him. Roma is faster than Adesanya in leg kicks and arm punches. Adesanya throws single punches and he has no variety. Right now, every other fighter understands what he’s doing.”

“Strickland is handy for us in general. I mean, he’s very slow. The only thing he has is physical power. I don’t see anything else, absolutely. And he doesn’t like to be kicked, he gets lost a lot. It’s not the kind of punches where there’s one a minute – if you hit him more often, he really starts to put his hands just above his belly button, and you can get him without any problems”

At the Las Vegas event, Roman Kopylov finished American Josh Fremd with a hand punch to the liver in the second round, recording his fourth straight knockout victory and earning a tournament bonus for “Performance of the Night.”

At the press conference after the tournament, the Russian said that in his next fight he was ready to face Georgian Roman Dolidze, who was left without an opponent after Derek Brunson left the organization.
