Egis Klimas, manager of the unified heavyweight champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), spoke about the progress of negotiations on organizing a fight for the title of absolute heavyweight with the WBC belt holder Briton Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs).
Klimas was asked to predict the outcome of the battle.
Answer manager: “This is boxing. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you end up in a draw. Anything can happen. Fury has an advantage in anthropometry. Against the background of Usyk, he is a giant at all. But not only in this matter. He is a really good boxer and very talented. He also has a very high fighting IQ. So he’s definitely a very, very dangerous opponent.”
Klimas recalled that Usyk was not the first to box with a bigger fighter – he beat British Anthony Joshua twice in a row: “We have great respect for Anthony. And nothing but respect. He got a little crazy after the second fight, but that’s okay. The big fighter lost to the small fighter. It is clear that the em did not like it. So it’s OK.”
Manager on how difficult it is to deal with Fury’s team: “Business? All Tyson has to do is just say yes. But no one knows what he will kick off in the next second. It’s not for nothing that Usyk called Fury a wino.”
Earlier, Usyk honestly admitted that he did not understand why Fury needed a third fight with Chisora. And ex-world champion Tony Bellew told how he almost lost his job because of Alexander.
